Our commitment

TradesFiji aims to meet WCAG 2.1 AA across every page on every platform. We test on real phones (90% of Fijians use one), with keyboard navigation, with screen readers, and with automated tooling in CI.

What we do today

  • Semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks on every page.
  • Colour contrast ≥ 4.5:1 for body text. Brand accents that fail at body size are only used for large or non-text elements.
  • Keyboard focus visible on every interactive element.
  • Touch targets ≥ 44px on every primary CTA.
  • Alt text on every meaningful image. Empty alt on decorative imagery so screen readers can skip it.
  • axe-core runs in CI on every push and blocks merges on serious or critical issues.

What we're still working on

  • Skip-to-content link in the global header.
  • Improved screen-reader instructions on the listing-detail page.
  • Reduced-motion preferences honoured on any animated UI we add.
